Boby Glove International celebrated its 60th anniversary in Kona.
The two-day celebration, held last week, included a concert by Grammy-nominated artist Henry Kapono, Body Glove giveaways, a Tiki Mug release party, and celebratory cake.
Twin brothers Bill and Bob Meistrell co-founded Body Glove in 1953, when they designed the first practical wetsuit. Body Glove is now considered a surf and dive industry pioneer, as well as a leading, worldwide water sports brand specializing in wetsuits, swimwear, footwear, clothing, accessories and technology accessories. It is still a family owned business, with its headquarters based in Redondo Beach, Calif.
